Sunset | Animated Homage
Sometime a book comes along and you can't remember what you thought of before it arrived in your life. For me this book is Sunset by Jessie Cave; a funny, painful and deeply introspective book that I lapped up in under a week. All this being said I had to make something in its honour, and so this project was born!

My A5 recreation (Left) and the original design made by the authors mother (Right). I chose to make it by hand with paper as to mimic the hand made nature of the original (made out of felt). Below is the individual elements I cut out in order to animate the scene using a combination of Photoshop and AfterEffects.

This was a lot of fun and helped me gain a better idea of how to make a stop motion effect using AfterEffects and colour changing properties of Photoshop. Although I like the outcome I would've loved to have made it using traditional Stop Motion techniques.
