Nowdio Brief & Branding
My Role: Freelance Designer working on a pitch brief for The Sustainable Designer.
Deliverables: Branding, Social Media Content, Infographics/Icons, Motion Graphics, Photography, Lino PrintingVideo Editing

Nowdio was created as a pop up studio solution pitch for a Nesta Challenge to utilise abandoned high street stores and give cramped Londoners room for their businesses/non-profits to thrive.
The branding needed to be bright, colourful and most importantly approachable due to the target audience being previous let down and taken advantage of by other developers in the focus area of Hackney Wick, Fish Island.
Using a birds eye view of the Nowdio architectural plan I created a playful identity that burst with colours and simplistic illustrations and images that reflected the DIY nature of the Nowdio concept.

Social Media Outreach
As the project needed input from active creatives and businesses to make sure it was being catered correctly it needed to have some kind of presence on social media.
With an uncertain end project (due to this being a pitch brief) it was important to hint at what Nowdio could deliver for people and their spaces, while not over promising.
Condensing Information
To make all of the information gathered by The Sustainable Designer , I created the below visuals for their pitch document to Nesta.
I received all my information in the form of spreadsheets, which were then translated into the below heat maps, charts and icons.

The shape corners are pointed to mimic the straight Sharpe lines of the Nowdio structure.

Photoshoot for Social Media & Documents
In order to have authentic images of creative studio environments for the Nowdio social media and the presentational document, I did a photoshoot utilising my own supplies and DSLR
The images below were taken in my space, using my DSLR and edited using a combination of Bridge and Photoshop.
Wireframe Designs
A responsive website and app were put into production as examples of how the Nowdio's could be booked/found (if produced).
Although there's a little mock up which went into the pitch document, this was just the first stage of working on an online system.
Lino Printing
With a large part of the brief being about sustainability and creating a DIY studio that is completely customiseable, I instantly thought of how Lino printing could be used.
Having made sure of the sustainable nature of Lino printing and ink, I was given the go ahead to trial some sample prints. Below are a few of these trials on how the Nowdio branding/general customisability.
Nowdio 3D Renders
Not produced by myself
Towards the end of the project these mock ups were delivered by the architect in charge of all things 3D.
They were fantastic for getting an idea of how the physical spaces would look like, while also showcasing how the Nowdio colours and Lino tests could have worked in situ.
The End & Sketches
As with all my projects, this one started with a pencil, highlighter and my hallowed A5 sketchbook.
I find going over the brief in a meticulous way, noting small elements from the provided brief, to be the most useful way for fully processing new information and starting the whole idea generation stage.
Publicity
DesignWeek picked up the story of Nowdio and published an early render of the designs, along with an interview on what Nowdio could offer.
